Member Services

Marion Christian Church is a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. We are realistic. We do not have all the answers. We are relevant, but not trendy. We are faithful, but human. We are loving, honest, fun...not boring. We welcome questions, doubt, skepticism. We are not a church for everyone. We are a church for everyone who wants a church for everyone....seriously, everyone.

SHARED BELIEFS

  • Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God, offering saving grace to all

  • All persons are God’s children

  • Church unity is vital

  • All believers are ministers

  • Each member has a right to freedom of belief

Marion Christian Church is part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a denomination founded in 1832 with 3,500 congregations across the United States and Canada. We are self-governed congregations tied together most notably by our weekly sharing of communion that is open to all who follow Jesus.

WHO, WHY, HOW?

Marion Christian Church exists to be the objective evidence of God’s love, aspiring to love and see others like Jesus.

  • Being nimble enough to change as we go. (but not erratic)

  • We are a “People’s Church” - in a partnership with God and each other.

  • Touch the lives of others outside of the congregations.

  • Serving each other within the congregation

  • Fiscal responsibility including stewardship and giving.

  • Reflection and evaluation of current ministries to better serve God.
